If you’re a sneakerhead that’s been in the game for longer than a minute then we don’t doubt that you’ll remember the golden days of hybrid silhouettes. Now a rarity, the process of combining two familiar sneakers was once commonplace in Nike’s marketing strategy, and went down an absolute treat with those who love their kicks.
Countless silhouettes have been given the treatment over the years, with some memorable iterations including the Air Max 1/90, the Nike Air Max Plus Free, and even Sean Wotherspoon’s critically-acclaimed Air Max 97/1. As we power forward into 2023, it seems like hybrid models could be back, as the “Timeless” pack has just been unveiled, featuring two head-turning takes on the Nike Dunk Low and the Nike Zoom Vomero 5.
First up, the Zoom Vomero 5 is decked out in the now-iconic “Panda” colourway, but that’s not all, the kicks even showcase pieces of Dunk panelling attached to the exterior, which almost seems like a dig at the popularity of the pair. Alongside this, the Dunk Low is decked out with the Y2K-style characteristics that are associated with the Vomero 5, creating for an eye-catching look.
The kicks both feature tongue tabs that pull elements from both the Dunk and Vomero, completing the look. Set to launch in the coming months, are you digging this pack as much as we are? Could we see further hybrid silhouettes launching this year? Stay locked in right here at The Sole Supplier for more as it’s unveiled, and while you’re with us check out the latest on the return of the Nike Air Max 1 “Shima Shima”!
