In a world where everyone seems 7 ft. tall, us 5 ft. gal can sometimes feel a little left out. As much as we love the classic Air Jordan 1, it definitely doesn't do much for us on the height front. Well, things are about to change, as the Swoosh brand have a solution. In comes the Air Jordan 1 LV8D, or Elevated. Trust us when we say this pair certainly live up to their name! With one of the chunkiest midsoles we've ever seen, you'll be towering above the competition, making those slam dunks much, much easier.

As well as releasing a brand-new women's-exclusive silhouette, Nike are treating us to the first drop being in the classic "Bred" colouring. In case you didn't know, the black-and-red combination is often referred to as "Banned", as Michael Jordan wore these sneakers game after game, despite the NBA fining him for going against kit guidelines. Apparently, Nike footed the $5,000 bill every time this happened, and although it's contested about how much truth there is to this story, it made for a great marketing campaign for the Oregon-based brand.
One of the most popular colourways of all time, we've seen "Bred" dress a number of sneakers. On the Air Jordan 1 Elevated, a red rubber outsole contrasts to the extraordinarily chunky midsole, whilst smooth leather takes over the upper in the titular black and red hues. Perforations across the toe box add breathability, whilst a cosy fleece lining adorns the inside of the shoe for added comfort. The outline of Michael Jordan's Wings insignia is embroidered onto the red heel tab, and the legendary Jumpman logo can be found on a panel on the back of the midsole, rather than at the top of the tongue.
Coming with painted cork insoles and the addition of a gold Jumpman chain, this pair will definitely add something special to your rotation. It has been revealed that two lace colours will accompany the AJ1s, too.
The Air Jordan 1 LV8D Elevated "Bred" will be available on 18th February over on Nike SNKRS. Keep it locked to The Sole Supplier to find out more Nike information as and when we have it, and don't forget to download our app to sign up for release reminders.
