How many times can you reimagine New Balance’s 2002R? The answer seems to be endless, but that’s a good thing! Not only have we seen it get deconstructed and rebuilt in the ‘Protection Pack,’ but we’ve also seen it get turned into a mule. Now, Copenhagen brand GANNI are set to give the 2002R silhouette a makeover, with a “Green” and “Grey” pair on the way.
Perfect for sneakerheads and GANNI girls alike, the 2002R silhouette was chosen for the way it fits into the Copenhagen way of life. Furthermore, the GANNI x NB 2002R sees the shoe take on a more sustainable construction than usual – the sneaker comes crafted with up to 50% recycled materials.
As mentioned, the pairs are set to come in two colourways. The “Green” pair takes on a beautiful muted neutral tone that comes contrasted with pops of green, whilst the “Grey” pair sees rainbow detailing. Both styles see GANNI’s signature logo decorate the mesh panels on the 2002R’s sidewalls and toe box, with the print having been designed especially for this occasion. New Balance branding hits appear in all the usual places, and the pairs come finished with exaggerated pull-tabs that match the super-cute colour schemes.
Both colours of the GANNI x New Balance 2002R collab are set to drop on April 13 at New Balance and GANNI.
