Though it's only February, we can all collectively agree that the worst of the winter is over, and it's time to start thinking about our spring rotations. That, to us, means ditching the bleak shades, the boots and the GORE-TEX, and instead focusing on the super-clean styles that look fresh AF in whites, greys and pastels.
Though some sneakerheads will no doubt have emerged from the winter ready to look for the next big thing, we still maintain that as far as spring/summer shoes are concerned, you can’t beat a Dunk. Set to stick around for yet another year on the circuit, there’s no doubt that the model has quickly become the new classic. And, for the season ahead, the fan-fave sneaker is already available in some seriously sleek colourways - including these four which are available right now.
First up, this “Midnight Navy” Dunk Low is serving up some serious Georgetown vibes, and although it's the perfect year-round colourway, it’s one we’ve been particularly excited about this month. Here, a fresh white leather base gives way to navy blue overlays, while a grey suede Swoosh sweeps across the sidewalls to complete the classic-looking colour palette
If you’re looking for something even cleaner, this white and grey number is about as versatile as they come. A strong contender for the Triple White AF1’s crown, this Dunk features an all-white build, broken up only by the tonal Swoosh, heel tabs and rubber outsole that all come dressed in a pure platinum hue. Sure, they’re low-key, but if your spring and summer staples don’t include a fresh pair of fresh white kicks then you’re doing it wrong.
For those who are lucky enough to fit into GS sizes, this pastel pair is a real popper. Pale pink comes overlaid with light grey and blue-green shades, while a bold teal Swoosh shoots across the sidewalls. A white a grey sole unit adds the perfect neutral finish, meaning these are still super-easy to style.
Following on from the above, we’re sticking with tonal hues for our next pick, which sees the Dunk High take centre stage. Celebrating the Dunk’s heritage as a high-top, this pair sees white overlays wrap their way around a grey base, while tonal Swoosh branding adds calls out to the Beaverton brand’s basketball pedigree. If you don’t yet have a Dunk High in your rotation then this could be the one to add - it’s the perfect pair for easy spring styling.
It may be one of the more subtle Valentine’s Day pairs, but we think that makes this V-Day Dunk all the more versatile. Arguably more suited to year-round wear than its pink and red-themed counterparts, this smooth style arrives with pops of pastel yellow detailing that feel akin to the summer months, including yellow Nike branding and a yellow heart to the heel, as well as muted tonal Swooshes and outsoles.
Finally, we've also been treated to two canvas pairs - because if you can't break out the canvas for spring and summer, when can you? Arriving in either a neutral tone with red detailing, or classic blue and white, these pairs feature criss-cross details to the toebox and heel tab and contrast stitching throughout.
