The adidas Intimidation Low, a training shoe first released in 1999, has officially entered adidas’ collaborative lineup. Following a two pair capsule by Packer Shoes, the silhouette has now journeyed to Australia, where creative house HAL Studios has given it a modern makeover. John Bouquet, HAL Studios’ co founder, recently unveiled the project on Instagram, revealing three distinct colourways with noticeable design updates.
True to HAL Studios’ experimental approach; evident in the recent collaboration on the ASICS GEL-Kayano 20, the Intimidation Low capsule features a streamlined, minimalistic moulded cage. While the updated tooling remains rooted in the shoe’s original look, HAL’s reinterpretation adds a unique touch. The semi translucent RPU cage stretches seamlessly from toe to heel, with each colourway featuring a cage that matches its base color. The collection is available in three palettes: light green, white, and black, each showcasing its own distinctive details.
The green iteration, for example, pairs its upper with brown laces and lining, creating a rich “beef and broccoli” aesthetic. The black version incorporates brown gum soles for a grounded, earthy look, while the white colourway stands out with red eyelets for a subtle pop of colour. All three designs feature black carbon fibre detailing on the heel, while the green and black pairs appear to include reflective panels on the tongue.
While Bouquet has yet to announce a release date for the HAL Studios x adidas Intimidation Low collection, he teased that more details will be revealed in 2025.
