Arguably one of the most iconic sneakers of all time, the Air Force 1 celebrates its 40th anniversary this year, and Nike have been rolling out the special-edition kicks thick and fast. The latest pair to join the birthday line-up is the Air Force 1 Mid “Copy Paste”, which sees the sneaker take on DIY-type detailing for a unique look.
The Air Force 1 has always been a firm fave for customisation, which is why the DIY look works so well with the shoe as a canvas. For this pair, the AF1 Mid forgoes its iconic “Triple White” make-up for a greyed-out upper, and oversized white details reflect the “Copy Paste” AF-1 Mid’s theme. These details come in the form of a secondary white Nike Swoosh that sweeps from the midfoot to the toebox on the lateral side of the sneaker, and a blown-up “Nike” wordmark that wraps around the medial side from the heel to the midfoot.
“AF-1 Mid” branding appears on the collar strap, and the white laces come with a silver dubré detail. Underfoot, the “Copy Paste” AF1 Mid boasts a vintage-looking yellowed sole, and the insoles come decorated with collaged text to add to the theme.
