We told you patent was going to be big this year, didn’t we? After the success of the Air Jordan 1 “Patent Bred” and “Atmosphere,” Nike are set to take patent paneling over to another fan-fave silhouette, the Air Force 1. Now we have to admit that the luxe glossy finish looks right at home on the classic style, so let’s take a closer look at the Air Force 1 “Patent Roman Bust.”
Starting off with a white tumbled leather base, the premium sneakers are dressed with wine red polished patent overlays for a seriously smart finish. Aside from the regal (and wine-themed) colouring, the only other reference to “Rome” appears in the form of a gold-coloured Roman Bust on the tongue tab, which appears above stylised “Air Force 1” text. The “Roman Bust” AF1s come teamed with a cream-coloured midsole for some serious vintage vibes.
The inspiration behind the “Rome” Nike Air Force 1s right now remains unknown, but with Nike’s namesake rooted within Greek Mythology, it could allude to more accompanying styles appearing in a similar theme soon.
