It seems this year’s Air Max Day is all about Asian-inspired food, and this Nike Air Max 90 is no exception. Inspired by Japanese convenience-store chicken, this AM90 is dressed in a yellow striped pattern that nods to Famichiki’s food packaging. Fusing streetwear with street food, this sneaker is going to be an instant hit with sneakerheads and foodies alike.
This Nike Air Max 90 is crafted with an upper that’s impossible to miss. The shoe’s overlays come in a yellow-and-white striped pattern, and the toe box boasts a tear-away panel that peels to revel a brightly hued suede section. The shoe’s lace anchors and heel come in polished silver-tone hardware and Nike’s swoosh matches the metallic look. Of course, the midsole is fitted with the brand’s world-famous exposed Air unit and the insole is cleverly finished with a playful print depicting a pair of food tongs.
An official UK release date for the Nike Air Max 90 ‘Chicken’ is yet to be announced, but rumour has it these will be landing before the 26th March! So, set your alarms and mark your iCal, because you don’t want to miss out on these. And, while you’re here, check out all the sneakers you need ahead of June 21st’s big unlocking.
