Original Article: As skateboard style continues to trend for 2023, Nike is pulling out all the stops with its SB releases. But as the sublabel continues to gain momentum within the wider sneaker scene (the Nike SB x AJ4 collab was a major moment), the Swoosh isn’t scared to revert to its roots, collaborating with the skaters and skateboard labels that form the cornerstones of the culture. For its latest trick, the Beaverton-based brand presents the TIGHTBOOTH x Nike SB Dunk Low, a collab with the label led by pro skater Shinpei Ueno, which is set to drop later this year.
Somehow managing to avoid many early leaks, Ueno himself took to Instagram to share a first look at the TIGHTBOOTH x Nike SB Dunk. Arriving in what would commonly be referred to as a “Reverse Panda” colourway, the pair puts a spin on the model by dressing it up with different textures, including a scratch panel effect on the white overlays, and a hairy suede base in black. Dialling things up an extra notch, Swooshes come decked out in reflective material, and the SB Dunk’s signature fat tongues take on a dotted effect. From here, bright orange peeks out from behind the tongue and from the inner sockliner, while the shade also graces the TIGHTBOOTH branding hit that finds itself attached to the lateral Swoosh.
Right now, early rumours suggest that the TIGHTBOOTH x Nike SB Dunk Low is set to drop during this year’s holiday season, but a date is yet to be confirmed by either brand. Until then, make sure you stay locked to The Sole Supplier for all the latest release info, and check out CLOT's final Nike collab.
