After announcing a reshuffle of its leadership team in a quest for innovation back in May, it would seem Nike is taking its first steps towards shaking things up a bit. In an attempt to seemingly interrupt the flow of rumours and leaks, the Swoosh brand has recently hosted its first-ever SNRKS Showcase.
Revealing over 30 styles, the SNKRS Showcase gave us an extended preview of what is to come in 2024. Delivering extensive details and storylines, this tactic will no doubt keep speculation at bay when it comes to leaks and early previews. So, without further ado, let's dive into the range of collections featured.
First up, we have the "Classics" collection, a mixed bag of timeless Nike styles, each quite removed from the other. Arriving in a duo of hues is the Air Foamposite One. Flaunting both "Eggplant" and "Royal" colourways, these will no doubt be popular among hardcore fans of the silhouette.
Next in the pack is the somewhat underrated LD-1000. While this shoe has been pretty much absent from all of our thoughts for the last few years, Nike is set to give it a revival with this blue and yellow retro makeup.
Unsurprisingly, the Dunk Low hype continues as Nike readies a trio of new colourways. “Silver/Blue,” “Reverse Curry,” and “Reverse Ultraman” will all be on offer, each boasting all the classic details.
Wrapping this pack up, we see a trio of Air Force 1 silhouettes celebrating key cities around the world. Currently, only the "Las Vegas" version is pictured, with this silhouette boasting loud pink tints atop what looks to be a synthetic upper.
With retro runners all the rage at the moment, the "Retro" portion of Nike's SNKRS Showcase might just be one of the highlights. Kicking things off, we have the futuristic Clogposite. Set to release in all-white, all-yellow and “Chrome," could this silhouette usher in the next wave of the clog trend?
Arguably the highlight of this pack is the five new pairs of Pegasus 2005s. Atop a mix of mesh and leather, jagged edges, contrasting colours and mini Swooshes work in unison to deliver nothing short of an eye-catching aesthetic.
To round out this collection, Nike has produced stealthy renditions of both the Pegasus Wave and Air Terra Humara. Primarily sporting black hues, these pairs will be ideal for the autumn and winter seasons.
With a handful of these having leaked already, it's fair to say the anticipation for Nike's Air Max release in 2024 is already building. Starting off this collection, we have a fresh rework of the Air Sunder Max. Born as a collaborative effort alongside COMME des GARCONS HOMME PLUS in 2022, this latest relaunch sees the silhouette arrive in "Highlighter" themed shades of green, pink and orange.
Next up, the "Big Bubble" saga is set to continue as the Air Max 1 ‘86 is revealed in “Royal Blue.” Offering a distinctive take on an OG, this one might prove to be more of a hit than its predecessor.
If that wasn't enough, Nike has also revived the Nike Air 180, this time in "Ultramarine" and an inverted "Ultramarine" take called the "Full 180."
With gorpcore and outerwear, in general, continuing to boom, what better time than now to prepare a selection of ACG silhouettes? To kick things off, two renditions of the slip-on ACG Rufus have been produced, each pertaining to the outdoor theme with their green and brown colourways.
Next, the ACG Izy arrives yet again with its zipped-upper, this time dressed in a black tint. Backing this, the ACG Mountain Fly 2 Low GORE-TEX sports a "Sage" colourway, as well as the ACG Exploraid. Finally, the ACG Torre Mid dons an “Olive Grey.
Our final collection in the Nike SNKRS Showcase firmly embraces everyone's love for the Nike SB Dunk. Entitled, the "City of Love" collection, this range celebrates all things Parisian with two distinctive colourways.
Atop the classic Nike SB Dunk silhouette, two opposing shades are featured. The first embraces a mix of off-white hues, while its counterpart utilises a number of burgundy shades. Expected to be a Valentine's Day release, so make sure to keep your eyes peeled for this duo!
So there you have it! Nike has firmly piqued all of our interests heading into 2024, so make sure to keep it locked in right here at The Sole Supplier for more Nike stories as they develop. Up next, Supreme x Nike come together to tackle the Air Darwin Low.
