What exactly is going on over at the Three Stripes? Back in 2019, adidas partnered up with Prada for a full sneaker collection that brought in a ton of hype for both brands. Earlier this year, the German giant announced that they were collaborating with Gucci for a full capsule range, and now, just weeks after that official unveiling, we're now taking our first ever look at the adidas x Balenciaga Triple S. This is pure madness.
Revealed by sneaker insider @apolloluo1976, the alleged adi Triple S features the classic serrated Three Stripe branding of the Superstar, but placed on top of Parisian label's infamous chunky shoe. Crafted from an all-leather construction, stealthy black accenting makes this ultra wearable, while the controversial triple-stacked midsole sits underfoot.
Taking a look around the back, you'll spot the signature Trefoil motif complete with "Balenciaga" written in the adidas font, and you'll also find an oversized heel tab and extra thick rope laces to boot, finalising that unmistakably Triple S aesthetic that we all love to hate and hate to love.
It's hard to judge the legitimacy of the adidas x Balenciaga Triple S at this moment in time. On the one hand, a sneaker like this could easily be faked and "leaked" on the internet, but on the other, adidas have a track record with teaming up with luxury fashion houses, so it really wouldn't be that surprising. Whatever happens, The Sole Supplier will be the first to let you know, so make sure you keep your eyes peeled! While you're here, you might as well take your first look at the Gucci x adidas Gazelle Collection!
