Jordan Brand’s “Reimagined” series was one of the biggest talking points of 2022, with the much anticipated Air Jordan 1 “Lost & Found” topping many sneakerheads’ must-cop lists. Following its release, the brand revealed that the Air Jordan 3 “White Cement” would be getting the same treatment, but that doesn’t mean that it's done with the AJ1 just yet, as it's rumoured that we could be getting reimagined “Black Toe” and "Royal" Jordan 1s sometime in the future.
According to sneaker leaker jfgrails, Jordan Brand will be looking to capitalise on the success of the “Lost & Found” release with this “Black Toe” pair, which last saw a reissue back in 2016. Given the detailing on the previous “Lost & Found” release, it would be fair to assume that this pair will also feature cracked leather detailing and a worn-in look, as well as a pre-yellowed vintage aesthetic - if it does exist at all, that is.
It's a similar story on the "Royal Reimagined" pair too. Though Jordan never wore the pair on the NBA court, the colourway still holds a significant spot in sneaker history: it was rumoured to be his favourite colourway, and played a part in early Jordan Brand promo imagery. Having seen four retros (the most recent being 2017), it's about time the pair was to make a comeback, and if the mock-up is anything to go by its looking like cracked leather and aged soles may also remain a firm feature on this pair. Current rumours suggest that this pair may be set to release in full-family sizing during November 2023, so catch us counting down the months until then.
Though early rumours suggested the "Black Toe" was tipped for a 2023 release, mumurs now suggest that the pair may materialise in 2024, leaving its blue counterpart to take centre stage this year.
Whatever happens, it's pretty clear that both pairs would be a welcome addition to anyone’s collection, so if anyone from Jordan Brand is reading this - please make it happen.
