Updated 2/08/23: After leaking back in April, official images of the Air Jordan 5 "Burgundy" have now landed online. The images themselves confirm the shoe will return with all of its original design notes, leaving AJ5 fans everywhere excited at the prospect of its comeback. The other good news is that we're expecting this shoe to land on the 12th of August via the SNKRS app, so make sure to set a release reminder below for a chance to cop!
Original Article: While the Air Jordan 5 had quite the year in 2022 with DJ Khaled, CLOT and PSG collaborative renditions arriving on the scene, it's fair to say things have been somewhat quiet since. That was until now, anyway, as the Jumpman brand looks to deliver a retro release of the iconic Air Jordan 5 "Burgundy" colourway.
Older sneakerheads might remember the Air Jordan 5 "Burgundy" first arriving on the scene in 2006 during what many would describe as one of the golden eras of the silhouette. Now, the "Burgundy" is set to make its return later this year, with all its original design cues featured alongside upgraded materials. Sat atop a classic Nike Air midsole unit, we see delicate suede upper panelling contrasted by "Flint Grey" sections on the lateral and medial walls, the tongue and laces. The iconic spikey midsole also flaunts a deeper speckled grey, delivering an almost stealthy appearance.
For those looking to get their hands on this rerelease, it's looking like we won't have to wait long. The pair are currently expected to drop on September 9, 2023, so either mark your calendars or make sure to set up a release reminder right here on The Sole Supplier for all the latest! In other footwear news, could the adidas "Supercolour" pack be making a colourful return in 2023?
