If Alessandro Michele was a TikTok trend, he'd be the 'Never Let Them Know Your Next Move' challenge. Ever since he was appointed Creative Director at Gucci , the Italian fashion designer has been making all kinds of bold and unpredictable moves. Within the past few months, he's launched collaborations with SUPERPLASTIC , The North Face , and Xbox . Most famously, back in November he linked arms with Balenciaga for the " Hacker Project " which saw him fully rework the infamous Triple S silo with the full GG treatment. Now, after months and months of leaks and teasers, we're taking our full look at the just-released Gucci x adidas collaboration.
Accompanied by an extensive 60-page lookbook, the Italian fashion house and the German footwear giant have teamed up for the first time ever this season to showcase the best of sports luxury. While his partnership with Demna featured just a handful of pieces, Alessandro has gone all out here with a plethora of specially designed apparel and accessories made specifically for the summer months.
Photographed by Carlijn Jacobs and inspired by fashion catalogues of the past, the shots showcase a vast range of androgynous styles that include blazers, T-shirts , sweaters , bell bottoms, and pencil skirts. All pieces are painted in a vibrant palette and are decorated with co-branded detailing throughout, with Gucci's interlocking G and adidas ' Trefoil playing a huge role. Every piece seems to nod to retro wallpaper from the '70s and '80s, with the Marco Bizzarri-helmed label's signature green and red piping featuring across the board.
