Update 30/8/23: After rumours of another J Balvin Air Jordan 3 surfaced last month, we’ve finally got our first look at the artist’s AJ3 “Rio”. The artist was recently spotted playing basketball in New York sporting, and sneakerheads were quick to point out exactly what was on foot.
Just as the mock-up suggested, the upcoming J Balvin x Air Jordan 3 “Rio” arrives in a blacked-out colourway, with colourful, sunset-inspired accents hitting the heels and sole units. Unlike the mock-ups however, the pair also features the style’s typical elephant-print overlays at the toes and heels. Take a look at the initial image below, and stay locked as more info comes to light ahead of next year’s release.
Original Article: While adidas’ efforts with Bad Bunny continue to ignite the sneaker scene, the Swoosh isn’t too far behind with its collaborations with J Balvin. Having revealed the Colombian artist’s third shoe earlier this year - the AJ3 “Medellín Sunset” - it appears that another Air Jordan 3 could be on the way, named and designed after his son, Rio.
Although no early images of the shoes have surfaced yet, sneaker insiders have identified the “Rio” J Balvin x Air Jordan 3 colourway as “Black/Solar Flare/Total Crimson Abyss”, and have produced mock-ups based on that information. While the colour blocking is also yet to be confirmed, these mock-ups speculate that the pair will run similarly to the “Medellín Sunset” version, with eyelets, Jordan branding and heel tabs all donning bright pops of colour.
As it stands, there’s not much release info surrounding the J Balvin x AJ3 “Rio”, but it is currently expected to drop sometime in 2024. In the meantime, the artist is no doubt gearing up for the release of the “Medellín Sunset” Jordan 3, which is set to drop in September. Take a look at the mock-up below, and stay locked to The Sole Supplier for more info as it comes in!
Up next, Travis Scott's Mac Attack could land soon.
