Rumours of the Kim Jones x Nike Air Max 95 collection have been floating around for a while. In fact, it was all the way back in June 2020 when The Sole Supplier first reported on it. With that said, fast forward almost a year and the hotly anticipated collaboration has finally been officially announced!
His latest project with the Beaverton brand since the Dior x Air Jordan 1 "Air Dior" last year, Jones' take on the Air Max 95 turns the silhouette on its head. Working on Sergio Lozano's anatomically-inspired aesthetic, the British fashion designer has taken aspects from other Swoosh sneakers and fused it into one single shoe.
For instance, the upper perforations take influence from the Air Max 360, while the eyestays and the semi-translucent overlay is borrowed from models such as the React Element 87 and Zoom Fly SP.
This all sits on top of a chunky Nike Air midsole and icy outsole combination, and the collab is rounded off with Kim Jones branding at the heel, finalising the design.
Expected to launch alongside a range of complementary apparel including hoodies, jackets, pants, and T-shirts, the Kim Jones x Nike Air Max 95 "Total Orange" will drop worldwide on March 19th, while the Kim Jones x Nike Air Max 95 "Volt" edition will release on the same day exclusively in the United Kingdom. Let us know which colourway you're feeling the most, and in related news, the LeBron x Nike Air Max 95 NRG is inspired by the Lakers!
