New Balance ’s Protection Pack (or Refined Future pack, if we’re being 100% correct) has quickly become one of the brand’s most popular finishes, so it's only fair that the range has received an autumn-ready update. Alongside a couple of leather 1906R s, the Boston-based brand has lined up four new colourways of the 2002R , and this time they come with ripstop panels.
Arriving equipped for the colder (and rainier) months, three of the pairs arrive in dark-hued “Tan”, “Olive”, and “Navy” colourways, though in true Protection Pack fashion, there’s also a custom-friendly “Sail” pair as well. Each colourway takes on its usual layered construction, with jagged suede giving way to rugged ripstop bases, which take the place of the usual mesh ones. From here, branding hits sit in all the usual places, while comfy N-ergy-infused sole units rest underfoot. Building on the rough and ready aesthetic of this particular installment, the four new colourways feature a toggle lace system for a secure fit - no matter what conditions you plan on putting them through.
Right now there’s no official release date for the upcoming autumn/winter 2023 New Balance 2002R Ripstop Protection Pack, but it's fair to assume they’ll be dropping towards the end of the summer.
