Although he’s a legendary footwear designer in his own right, Salehe Bembury continues to push the culture forwards through clever collaborations, and is gearing up to drop the second instalment of his New Balance 547 Yurt “Universal Communication Pack” very soon. Arriving in three new colourways, the whistle-equipped, outdoor-ready sneakers are slightly brighter than previous pairs, so here’s what to expect from the upcoming styles.
Kicking things off, the Pink and White “Beach” pair pays homage to one of the most iconic New Balance collabs of all time: Ronnie Fieg’s NB1600 “Daytona,” which was reminiscent of Fieg’s trips to Daytona Beach as a child. The upper arrives in a white shaggy suede and engineered mesh, with hints of purple and pink scattered across the upper and soles. The iconic whistle feature comes in cream on the heel.
Next, the “Forest Green” pair takes its inspiration from lush and leafy forests and fields. Again, the uppers are made from the same hairy suede and rugged mesh, with grey and green leather detailing adding extra points of detail.
Finally, the black pair, named “Tundra,” nod to the snowy Arctic region, and see the shoe take on a mostly black upper with hints of grey, white and purple. They’re probably the most practical of the three, but we love the fact that some bright colours get a look in on this collection. If any of the pairs are on your list, then be sure to hit the links and set those release reminders, as these will go fast!
