A few months have passed since the untimely death of Virgil Abloh, and the fashion world hasn’t been the same since. However, the designer’s incredible legacy is set to continue, with some of his late Off-White x Nike collaborations starting to hit the shelves once more. After being given the blessing from Abloh’s wife to continue to drop their collaborative efforts, both the Off-White x Nike Air Force 1 Mid “Black/Pink” and “White” pairs may have finally been given a release date. If you’re still looking to get your hands on some sneaker history this could be your chance, so listen up to find out when they’ll be dropping.
It’s been a while since we last saw these pairs, so let’s start with a quick refresher, shall we? Taking on a more utilitarian vibe than your typical AF1, both Off-White x Nike AF1 Mids feature a synthetic upper and a ripstop-textured Velco ankle strap, as well as a chunky pull tab at the ankle. The sole unit has also received an overhaul, and this now looks to be slightly warped looking, with an exposed Air Bubble peeking out from underfoot, and colourful spikes adding a point of detail to the outsole.
Bursting with Virgil’s signature details, both the “Black/pink” and “White” Off White x Nike Air Force 1 Mid sees the silhouette come decorated with a secondary lace unit (as seen on his Off-White Dunk collection), as well as a translucent Swoosh and the usual Helvetica Off-White for Nike stamp. The pairs come finished with Off-White's signature zip-tie detail, a feature that recently became an official trademark of the brand.
The pairs are rumored to drop in May this year, although this is still yet to be confirmed by Nike. In the meantime, enjoy these early images, and be sure to download our app to stay up to date with all the latest sneaker news and releases.
