The Salehe Bembury x New Balance "Universal Communication" Collection Is Officially Unveiled

Frequent New Balance collaborator Salehe Bembury is back at it once again and this time around he’s officially unveiled the long-awaited “Universal Communication” collection. First famed for his work with Versace, Bembury has quickly built a name for himself in the sneaker industry and continues to impress fans with regular new work and refreshing design ideas.

Inspired by the great outdoors (like both of his previous NB collaborations), the pack features the Yurt 574, an adaptation of the classic silhouette that’s optimised for rough terrain and extreme weather. Alongside this there’s plenty on the apparel front within the collection including fleece pullovers, hiking pants, tactical vests and even backpacks that come complete with hydration tubes.

The Yurt 574 is offered up in a set of colourways that includes “Olive/Navy/Red”, “Grey/White”, “Black/Purple”, “Teal/Volt” and “White/Blue/Pink”. All variations are crafted from suede and technical mesh and feature a fully-functioning whistle on the heel tab, one of the most abstract sneaker additions we’ve seen in a while. Alongside this comes New Balance branding one each side and a midsole that boasts Abzorb technology, ensuring these are more than comfortable.
