Putting aside all the high-heat New Balance releases you're familiar with such as the assortment of co-branded New Balance 992s and an ever-growing collection of New Balance 327s, this time, the Boston footwear label travels to The Land of The Rising Sun once again to work with their Tokyo Design Studio team. Not only that but Japanese-born outdoor apparel Snow Peak has also been called in to partake in the forthcoming release of the Snow Peak x New Balance Niobium Concept 2, and here's everything you need to know!
New Balance is always exploring every corner of footwear designs. After giving their classic 574 model a bulky revamp dubbed the New Balance 57/40, the brand has embarked on a huge journey to revisit their outdoor-ready, transformable Niobium Concept silhouette from 2020.
The first version featured a system allowing the user to transform the pair into three different types: waterproof boot, outdoor sandal, and indoor slippers. But as for the second version, the labels have opted for a two-type arrangement, a sandal and mule. Exhibiting an olive green hue with hits of black, the Niobium Concept 2 comes with a breathable mesh base accompanied by synthetic leather toe caps and mudguard to provide a breathable feel and maximum durability. Down under, a Fresh Foam sole unit ensures that comfort is present all day long. Completing the versatile construction is a lacing system composed of adjustable magnetic strap buckles, and the award-winning heel strap that can be removed as the user wishes – the perfect shoe for a morning hike that can withstand the toughest terrains and a comfortable pair of slippers for a relaxed evening by the lake.
The Snow Peak x New Balance TDS Niobium Concept 2 is scheduled for a release date in Japan on July 25th then followed by a global release a little while after. If you want to stay ahead of the latest New Balance releases, keep it locked in right here at The Sole Supplier as we'll be the first to notify you.
