The Taka Hayashi x Vans Vault Skate Pack Resurrects Vintage Silhouettes

The Taka Hayashi x Vans Vault Skate Pack is the latest capsule collection to be launched between the legendary Californian footwear label and the highly-coveted Japanese artist. The duo have been working together for many years now, with multiple hugely successful releases. For this latest pack, the pair look back at archival skate-centric silhouettes from Vans’ extensive back catalogue.

To kickstart the collection, the Sk8-Lo (a mashup of the Old-Skool and Sk8-Hi) is decked out in two checkerboard colourways that are designed to resemble the intricate patterns of QR codes. These will definitely be a hit with streetwear fans, and will be something different to factor into the rotation!

Next up are both the Style 47 and the Style 98, both of which draw inspiration from military designs and showcase classic skate inspiration. The Style 47 is visually similar to the iconic Slip-On, although it’s significantly more durable due to the skate-focus. The 98 is a straightforward mid-top model that’s seen here in smooth black and white colourways that will no doubt be a pleasure to work into any outfit.
