Vans Old Skool
Let’s face it, the Vans Old Skool is one of the most iconic sneakers of all time. Ever since it first launched back in 1977, this sneaker has become a wardrobe and street-wear essential. Is it any wonder why this is considered the most popular model when compared with all Vans footwear?!
Whether it be with the checkerboard print or those garish flames, Old Skool trainers are instantly recognisable. Designed by Paul Van Doren in Anaheim, 40 years have passed, and this shoe is still every bit as good. It’s thought that Paul actually designed the shoe as a doodle, not knowing that it would later become a best-seller.
Not only are the many leather and suede Old Skool trainers popular but this been the focus for many great collaborations. That includes Supreme, Fear of God and more recently, SpongeBob SquarePants. It seems this label has brands queuing out of the door to put their stamp on this silhouette.
Today, even more updates are being made to the classic Old Skool with modern iterations such as the ComfyCush and LX. Bringing even more comfort, it’s just one more reason why every sneakerhead should own a pair of Old Skool shoes.
