Freddy Krueger has had his fair share of sneaker collaborations over the years, famously featuring on a Nike SB Dunk back in the early 2000s that never made it past the sample stage, and then appearing once again on the Nike Air Max 95 last year. For 2021 it appears that the Nightmare on Elm Street character will be the inspiration for a Vans Sk8-Hi that’s set to launch this October as part of the Californian footwear label’s Halloween efforts.
The pair pictured here are indeed a sample pair, although it seems highly likely that these will end up being produced, unlike the SB Dunk we touched upon earlier that was cancelled due to copyright infringement. Decked out in Freddy’s signature green and red colours, this Sk8-Hi looks suitable gory and ready for action.
The uppers look to be crafted from premium canvas for a durable and comfortable feel, with the label’s iconic Jazz Stripe logo running down each side and painted in red. Black waxed laces also feature blood splatters and an embroidered logo tab is present at the tongues. Black stitching and a rubber heel tab complete the look, with everything situated on top of a black midsole that conceals plenty of cushioning.
If you’re looking to get your hands on the Vans Sk8-Hi “Freddy Krueger”, it’s rumoured that the limited edition pair will launch on the 1st October, so make sure to keep it locked in right here at The Sole Supplier for all the updates on this pair and so many more.
