When this shoe first dropped, sneakerheads in the U.S. and Asia lost their minds. Some turned to shady backdoor deals, paying upwards of £3,000 just to flex. Fast forward to today, and these babies are going for an eye watering £6,000 on resale platforms like StockX. But here’s the kicker: you don’t have to sell your kidneys just yet. Why? Because they’re coming back (sort of...).
2018 was a blockbuster year for sneaker culture. We're talking heavy classics like the Nike React Element 87 and Yeezy Boost 700 stealing the spotlight. Sneakerheads were also treated to a rare gem: the Off-White x Air Jordan 1 High OG ‘Euro.’
Now you’re getting another chance to snag these very special pairs for retail. Yes, the Off-White x Air Jordan 1 High OG is making a return, just like we speculated last year.
It's bringing back all the deconstructed, Abloh approved goodness that made it iconic; crisp white leather, suede, exposed foam, loose collar panels, and that bold blue stitched Nike Swoosh. Oh, and of course, the signature zip tie is back, because what’s an Off-White sneaker without it? This re release is almost identical to the 2018 version, but with a huge twist.
Let’s start with the good news. We’re genuinely blown away by the packaging on this one. While the original pair arrived in a standard Jordan 1 High box, this reissue steps it up with a design that mirrors the cut-out holes seen on the Off-White x Jordan 4 and Jordan 5 collabs. Even better, the box opens from the side, switching up the unboxing experience before you’ve even clocked the shoes inside.
Bad news? After you've read this and are probably now hyped up, you still won’t be getting your hands on the original Off-White x Air Jordan 1s. While the upcoming retro stays true to the 2018 classic in shape and style, there’s one key switch-up. The Off-White™ branding is completely gone, replaced instead with Virgil Abloh Archive™ text. A respectful tribute, yes, but make no mistake: this isn’t a re-release, it’s a definitely more of a reframe.
Dropping a year after Virgil Abloh’s legendary Off-White x Nike ‘The Ten’ collection, the ‘Euro’ didn’t quite spark the same hysteria as the GOAT ‘Chicago’ colourway. But it had its own charm. This wasn’t just another Abloh design flooding the global market. The ‘Euro’ was crafted exclusively for the European crowd, making it the sneaker equivalent of a designer handbag you can only snag in Paris. Naturally, this exclusivity sent worldwide demand through the roof.
The Off-White x Air Jordan 1 High OG ‘Alaska’ is set to drop in 2026 with the exact retail price and stockists still to be confirmed.
