This Upcoming New Balance 2002R Could be the Most Practical Pair Yet

What a year New Balance are having! Not only are they killing it in the collaboration game right now, but they’re also seeing a number of their silhouettes in contention for the hottest shoe of the year. One of the styles that everyone is talking about right now is the 2002R. Having seen a couple of iterations in the ‘Protection Pack’ and even a Mule variation, the style is set to get a bit more practical, as the latest pair arrives with pockets.

Dubbed the New Balance 2002R Tech Pocket by sneaker insiders, the pair leans heavily into the Gorpcore-inspired aesthetic that’s really dominating the industry right now. Arriving in New Balance’s signature grey shades, and a rugged and retro-looking suede and engineered mesh construction, it’s the water-resistant grey and orange stash pockets attached to the lace units that provide the main point of detail. Elsewhere, blue accents hit the ‘N’ logo, and 2002R branding can be spotted by the ankle.

Remaining comfortable as well as practical, the Tech Pocket NB 2002R sees the usual N-ERGY sole unit underfoot for a smooth and comfy ride.
