Virgil Abloh's "ICONS" Book Delves Into the Off-White x Nike Sneaker Collaboration
Over the past four years, Virgil Abloh and Nike singlehandedly transformed the entire sneaker landscape. Whether you like him or not, the architect-turned-fashion designer has done more for the industry in the short span of time than pretty much anyone else in modern history, and as an ode to this coveted collaboration, they've teamed up with TASCHEN to release "ICONS".
Taking a deep dive into all things Off-White x Nike, "ICONS" aims to showcase what went behind the scenes to create the legendary "THE 10" Collection as well as the Chicago-native's other releases like the "TRACK & FIELD" series. Readers will be given an in-depth look behind each model as well as prototypes and samples that, for some reason or another, didn't make it to the final stage. It'll also include screenshots of the original text messages between Abloh and the Beaverton brand.
Speaking about the project, the Off-White founder said, "The ICONS book is, in a way, the only revealing lens to understand that the catalog of the 50-plus Nike shoes I have designed are in my mind "one shoe." One story."
Expected to launch on January 15th via SNKRS and through Off-White and Canary Yellow, Virgil Abloh's "ICONS" book will then get a much wider release next month on February 5th. Let us know if you'll be grabbing a copy for yourself, and in related news, the Off-White x Nike "THE 20" Collection is coming soon!
