adidas x Offspring NMD R1 Desert Sand has come out of nowhere. As part of the ongoing celebrations for the Offspring 20th anniversary, the major footwear retailer have joined adidas to re-create one of their most popular silhouettes. Keeping a tight lid on this collaboration, surfaces for the design only surfaced several days ago. Now we have a confirmed release date and we’re anticipating a full sellout. It’s something we’ve come to expect with the ‘Nomad’ runner.
This design looks to be especially popular as it remains completely unique from the countless other models launched. The design takes inspiration from the fashion trends of 1968, the same year that Offspring first opened their doors. It was during this era that the desert boot was in high demand. Paying homage to that silhouette, this shoe comes dressed with soft nubuck leather and flexible Primeknit in a muted shade of beige.
Laser cut detailing to the three stripe branding of the sidewall is another unique feature and a dual branded Offspring and adidas logo hits the inner sole. Finally, a white Ultra Boost sits underfoot which is planted with a brown coloured midsole plug.
