Offspring x adidas Orketro London Nights

Casting its eye to the towering heights of London, this first-time partnership between adidas Consortium and Offspring embraces the new ‘90s-inspired runner, showing us what London means to them. Much like the Big Smoke itself, the adidas Orketro has plenty of room for new stories, and with Offspring putting pen to paper, you’ll want to pay attention to what’s about to unfold.

A collection of grey suedes has been sewn onto the upper, with the levels of detail only revealing themselves the closer you get. Offspring uses the embroidered line on the Orketro to subtly reference what some might call the beating heart of London, the Thames. The detail has rarely appeared on any London-based adidas projects (bar the adidas London ZX Flux 2014), with the Three-Stripes turning its focus towards the Underground for the TFL Series or the Royal Guard for the City Series. Even the green accents on the midsole and outsole point towards the murky green tones of the Thames.

As the sun fades, the Orketro transforms, along with the nightlife on the streets of London. As the neon lights come out to play, the Xeno material used on the upper captures this with its vibrant rainbow reflections. Sneakerheads might recall seeing the Xeno material for the first time on the ZF Flux “Xeno Pack” from 2015 and how it caused a huge stir in the community during that year. Underfoot lies a small hologram that flips from “adiPRENE to Offspring”, another detail which once again proves the extent of thought behind the design.

Offspring has served up a shoe for sneakerheads both new and old, all while encapsulating a view of the many faces of London.
