Further strengthening a European and Japanese alliance, London-based designer Kiko Kostadinov reconnects with ASICS for a trio of GT-2160 colourways inspired by the former’s trifecta of Gel-Burz 2 collaborations in 2018. The team-up expands the ASICS GT-2160’s roster, joining other powerhouse collabs that include Dime, Cecilie Bahnsen, and KITH. This Kiko Kostadinov x ASICS GT-2160 “Green” arrives in a muted colour palette with minimalist detailing.
ASICS maintains a steady influx of releases to capitalise on the retro running shoe trend. With styles like the GEL-Kayano 14, GEL-NYC, and GT-2160 at the forefront of ASICS’ Sportstyle catalogue, we can expect the Japanese sportswear powerhouse to unveil more inline styles in the succeeding season. This Kiko Kostadinov reinterpretation displays a light green textile base with protruding overlays and black outlines surrounding the ASICS Tiger Stripes. GT-2160 branding appears on the lateral rear, with a diamond-shaped heel counter for added splendour. The foam midsole and visible GEL inserts arrive in a pitch-black shade, allowing the mint green TRUSSTIC shank plate and rubber outsole to stand out.
