99GINGER x New Balance 1906R F&F Green Croc

Parisian creative collective 99GINGER takes the internet by storm with its New Balance 1906R collaboration. Just as sneaker fiends were getting excited about getting these croc-covered 1906Rs on their feet, news of its Friends & Family status soon shut down any dreams of that from happening. While a handful of French trendsetters were spotted rocking the pair on their IG, it was soon clear that the “Green Croc” colourway would remain elusive thanks to its limited release.

The silhouette has been climbing the ranks since it re-entered the footwear scene in 2022, slowly gaining a spot on people’s rotations across the globe. Until now, the model has predominantly arrived in a typical mesh upper, occasionally dabbling with the beloved “Protection Pack” jagged tooling, yet never dipping its toe into the realm of animal prints. The patent Croc leather serves up the 1906R in a one-piece upper, casting aside the techy panelling and choosing this elegant dark green hue to deliver this premium take on the silhouette. Bar the shiny leather, everything else is dipped in black, letting the reptilian upper take centre stage.

Unless a few pairs somehow make their way onto the secondary market then it looks like these will have to remain on your grail list for the rest of time. Hope is not all lost though as a rumoured “Black Croc” pair might be releasing later this year.
