New Balance taps Junya Watanabe MAN for an exclusive collaboration featuring the eyebrow-raising 1906L, a crossover between sports and fashion. This project is part of the Japanese designer’s Fall/Winter 2024 Menswear capsule alongside a range of footwear and apparel. Dropping alongside the clean “White” counterpart, the Junya Watanabe MAN x New Balance 1906 Loafer “Black” displays a stealthy makeover shrouding the silhouette’s retro running shoe tooling underneath.

This laceless hybrid model sports a blacked-out leather upper reminiscent of loafers and dress shoes. The synthetic overlays and plastic heel counter design of the NB 1906 construct the mudguard and rear with a glossy finish that exudes a premium texture. An NB tag sits on the lateral forefoot, while the embossed Junya Watanabe MAN label decorates the tongue. The midsole features the retro trainer’s ACTEVA LITE cushioning and ABZORB SBS technology, offering maximum cushioning and comfort to your day-to-day routine.
