JJJJound and New Balance unveil an all-weather update to the exceptional NB 2002R in their latest collaborative project. The renowned mood board-turned-design studio hailing from Montreal has been one of the constant partners of the Boston sportswear giant since their first team-up in 2018. The JJJJound x New Balance 2002R Gore-Tex “Green Black” poses a utilitarian aesthetic to the beloved retro running shoe, clad in an earthy and stealthy ensemble.

This weatherproof sneaker incorporates reliable Gore-Tex coating atop the blacked-out mesh underlay, guaranteed to keep you dry in any season. Dark green suede overlays reinforce the lightweight base, encompassing most of the upper. Black leather panels bolster the forefoot, heel tab, and signature “N” logos on the sides. Gore-Tex branding sits on the mesh collar, placed atop the embroidered 2002R label. A toggle lacing system presents an outdoor-ready functionality to these kicks. Like most joint ventures with Justin Saunders’ brand, minimalist co-branding appears on the sockliners. The stealthy makeover extends towards the ABZORB midsole and rubber outsole, engulfed in pitch-black.
