Aminé x New Balance 740v2 Benson Tech

Aminé and New Balance pay homage to the artist’s High School with this third collaboration. Having worked on the NB 610 twice now, with a limited “The Mooz” as well as the 610S Mini Mooz trio, the Portland native is now honing his creativity on the retro’d NB 740v2. Typical of the rapper’s colourful portfolio, he has not shied away from his tenancy towards loud sneakers, with this New Balance BTEE740 being more of the same.

Both this and the other shoe in the pack are based on the Benson Polytechnic collegiate colours of orange and blue, along with a number of holographic accents thrown in for good measure. The tongue on this edition reads, “Club Banana Research. Benson Poly Tech. BTEE 740. Class of 2012. Radio KBPS”, fully laying down the shoe’s inspiration for everyone to see. Inside the shoe is a crest graphic which also plays into the similar sorts of themes printed onto the tongue. Across the outsole lays an abstract graphic of Aminé’s signature, ensuring that the bottom of the shoe is just as colourful.

The box has also been maxed out with loads of special features such as the stickers that display Benson’s astronaut mascot. Inside the box, once the wrapping paper and shoes are removed, you can spot a laptop graphic which student’s at KBPS such as Aminé have created their own music on as part of the programme.
