Nike’s most recent AF1 switch up comes in the form of the Nike Air Force 1 Pixel Black White. A tech-inspired iteration that looks to glitches for inspiration, elements of the original design remain intact, while brand-new cuboid branding steals the show.
Taking design cues from the old-school AF1, the upper on these is crafted from smooth leather – but instead of the usual circular perforations, the toe box is scattered with square perforations that enhance the shoe’s breathability. Overlays add structure and the thick midsole nods to this season’s chunky trainer trend. What really brings this Air Force 1 to life is the cuboid detailing; the lacelock is a 3D rectangular cube and a brand-new logo sits on the tongue and heel for good measure. Nike’s Swoosh logo is usually stitched onto the sides, but this iteration features cut-out Swooshes to spice things up a bit.
