Formed as a Nike initiative, the Serena Williams Design Crew apprenticeship program unveils a trifecta of Nike footwear icons in this new collection for autumn. The collective remains active after officially launching in 2021. The theme for this trio revolves around tennis legend Serena Williams’ global impact in tennis and her innate fashion style. This Serena Williams Design Crew x Nike Air Huarache “White" gives the classic ‘91 Tinker Hatfield masterpiece a significant design overhaul. The shoe has a laceless upper and an extravagant collar featuring wavy topographic patterns.

The trio of Nike icons in the latest Serena Williams Design Crew consists of the Air Max 1, Air Huarache, and a women’s Dunk Low Disrupt 2. This Huarache iteration boasts the most noticeable update, equipping the plush neoprene collar with a higher cut and topographic textures. The white mesh makes up the base, while leather overlays reinforce the toe and sides. Orange accents adorn the tongue and heel tab, highlighting the laceless setup of this early ‘90s running shoe icon. Vibrant teal hues decorate the inner lining and rubber heel counter for a summer-focused aesthetic. Serena Williams’ autograph appears on the orange sockliner. The revamped Air Huarache wraps up the design with a cream-white sole.
