Nike Air Max 1 King’s Day

Nike celebrates the Netherlands’ annual Koningsdag with a special-edition Air Max 1 “King’s Day” ahead of the national holiday. Commemorated every 27th April, the festivities honour the birthday of King Willem-Alexander from the House of Orange-Nassau.

Living up to the celebration’s orange palette, this premium Air Max 1 flaunts various upper materials. Light brown mesh establishes the underlays, shored up by rich brown leather overlays on the midfoot and front mudguard. Tan-coloured suede envelops the rear portion of the mudguard, complementing the matching layers on the forefoot and topmost eyestay. Orange Swooshes decorate the sidewalls, complementing the laces and embroidered mini Swoosh on the lateral toe area. The heel panel boasts ribbed textures, backdropping the commonplace Nike Air branding.

The mesh tongue features a hidden stash pocket, enclosed by a hook-and-loop fastener. Dark brown accents shroud the PU midsole, allowing the visible Air bubble in the rear to take the spotlight. Assorted earth tones animate the waffle rubber sole, matching the upper’s stunning arrangement. This sneaker includes a branded shopping bag and extra brown and orange laces donning “4.27” details on the lace tips as an ode to the event.
