It’s time to rock your tie-dye t-shirts, Nike and the University of Oregon honour the Grateful Dead with a hugely limited sneaker collaboration. This three-way partnership coincides with the “Grateful Ducks” football match on the 25th of October, which celebrates the legendary American rock band’s 60th anniversary and its frequent performances on UO’s campus since the late ‘60s. A worthy sequel to the highly coveted SB Dunk collection from 2020, this Grateful Dead x University of Oregon x Nike Air Max 90 “Grateful Ducks” showcases a psychedelic design inspired by the counterculture era.
This spectacular AM90 features an off-white mesh and suede upper with multicoloured stitching and a captivating tie-dye canvas mudguard. Yellow and green accents envelop the TPU eyestays and the furry Swoosh on the sidewalls, which pay homage to the spiky collars of the joyful Dancing Bears iconography. Additional Nike labels animate the tongue and rear, complementing the co-branded details on the sockliner. The special-edition hangtag displays five colourful ducks as a nod to the University of Oregon’s mascot, replacing The Dead’s signature ursines. A cream polyurethane midsole and yellow TPU column encase the visible Max Air unit in the heel, supported by a durable waffle sole underneath.
Launching on the Nike SNKRS app and select retailers, you can find out where to buy the Grateful Dead x University of Oregon x Nike Air Max 90 “Grateful Ducks” by keeping it locked to The Sole Supplier!
