Nike Air Max 90 Icons Metallic Silver

The Icons pack is definitely worth getting excited for this year, with the Nike TN Air Max Plus “Scream Green” already setting the standard for what to expect. Being one of Nike’s most iconic Air Max silhouettes, the 90 or the Air Max 3 as it was originally known as, was obviously going to be included in the run up for this Icons capsule. Now the AM90 returns in an unusual make-up that may impress or destress fellow sneakerheads, borrowing the infamous “Silver Bullet” colourway in which to dress up in.

All the branding is imbued in a deep red, similar to the mini Swoosh that sits on both the tongue and side wall on the Air Max 97. The silver accents glisten from the mudguard and toe guard panels, giving the AM90 a shine that it hasn’t seen since the Metallic Pack from 2020. Sat on the toe box is the usual mesh canvas that we saw on the classic retro editions from 2020, yet this time imbued with a darker finish to mimic the mesh that weaves between AM97’s 3M panelling. Underfoot, the Air Max 90 tread remains untouched, with red and black accents used to segment the various portions of the foot as seen on the iconic “Silver Bullet”. Of course the grey Air Unit is present here in its shorter exposed form that can only echo the full length bubble of the AM97.
