The Nike Air Max 97 First Use Sail is one of the Swoosh brand's additions to their continuously growing First Use collection. Taking on Christian Tresser's Japanese bullet train-inspired trainers, the Air Max 97, the pair accommodates motifs that nod to the official date the Swoosh logo was trademarked.
This brand new Air Max 97 iteration flaunts a mix of synthetic, leather, and mesh across its upper, while suede graces the sidewall mudguards to deliver a premium feel to the sports shoe.
Predominantly shade in a sail colourway from heel to toe, the design is given a pop of contrast through the use of blue laces, and red accents in the forms of repeated Nike script text across the wavy side panels, mini Swoosh logo on the quarter panels, and the visible full-length Air midsole beneath the feet. The design is rounded off with the date June 18 1971 stamped on the insoles and gold-coated lace dubraes forefoot.
