Nike Jordan Air Ship SP Tech Grey

A nod to an OG colourway, this Nike Jordan Air Ship shows off a throwback look! Get ready for the return of the precursor to the Air Jordan 1 in this Nike Jordan Air Ship SP “Tech Grey”.

Remaining somewhat of a mystery to most sneakerheads since it first landed back in '84, Nike has finally shined the light on the silhouette with its return in 2020. Brand historians at Nike recently confirmed that the Air Ship was in fact the real 'banned' sneaker and not the Air Jordan 1 High OG “Bred”. When Michael Jordan officially signed with Nike in '84, his upcoming signature shoe was still in development but before the Air Jordan 1 launched in '85, MJ would play in the Nike Air Ship.

Nike retroed the Air Ship for the first time with the “New Beginnings” pack in 2020, along with the debut of the Air Jordan 1 High ‘85. This "Tech Grey" colourway honours the OG “Neutral Grey” from the Air Jordan 1. The shoe features a supple white leather upper, the kind of which we have yet to seen on the retros, what with the cracked leather "Every Game" editions or the stiff leather on the "White Green" and "University Gold" pairs. The grey accents are cut from a hairy suede, with the Nike Air on heel now embroidered on as a result. As with the other versions, a white midsole and grey rubber outsole cap off the throwback tribute.
