In case you didn’t know the heritage behind this line, the revered track coach Bill Bowerman was the chief designer behind the Classic Cortez. But many are unaware of the story behind this innovative sneak.
Back in the day Bill coached up and coming athlete Kenny Moore who suffered an injury thought to be brought on by unresponsive footwear. And so Bowerman went about creating a running silhouette that was way more comfortable and lightweight, engineered for the long distance runner.
Nike celebrates this shoe by unveiling a series of ‘Kenny Moore’ inspired silhouettes. This pair stays completely true to the original and even opts for an eye popping colourway. Bright yellow nylon covers the upper with contrasting hits of blue to the swoosh and heel. Little has changed from the original low-profile midsole except it’s slightly more lightweight yet just as durable.
