Nike TN Air Max Plus 25th Anniversary

Celebrating 25 years of bold design, the Nike TN Air Max Plus “25th Anniversary” edition pays homage to this trailblazing ‘90s sneaker. Tying together an assortment of fan-favourite colourways, this pair is truly a celebration of the globally renowned silhouette. While 2023 has been an extremely strong year for TN releases, we reckon this could be the best yet, even nudging out previous contenders such as the “Black Blue Gradient” and even A COLD WALL* iterations for the number 1 spot. This 2023 retro replicates the original with a breathable mesh upper, thermoplastic overlays, and TPU caging system. On the traction front, a waffle-patterned rubber outsole provides durability and grip for dynamic motion. Padding around the ankle collar and an Air-Sole unit under the heel delivers comfortable cushioning. Similar to the infamous “What The” series, this “25th Anniversary” edition TN combines the best features from a set of beloved colourways such as the “Hyper Blue”, “Sanguine”, “Palm” and “Fireberry”, all of which are etched into the minds of sneakerheads. Bearing what at first may appear to be a tie-dye effect, the faint palm tree prints across the upper nods to Sean McDowell’s design inspiration that came to him during that fateful Florida sunset. From light blue to dark purple to berry pink, the palette is certainly brimming with life as the mesh details several colourful transitions. A black outsole takes hints from the “OG Hyper Blue” make-up, however casts aside the white accents and cloaks this outsole in a matte black, complementing the darker details above.

Continuing with the celebratory feel is the black and gold badge stamped onto the tongue, while the red and yellow aglets which read “TUNED SINCE 1998” add an extra touch to the premium storytelling. Wrapping up the ensemble is the unique shoe box which bears a special “Air Max Plus Anniversary” message inside, along with McDowell’s initial sketches printed onto the tissue paper inside. As a collector or appreciator of the Nike TN, this Anniversary pair is deserving of a spot on your collection.

Retailing at the cost of £184.95, this anniversary TN is a little above the standard but offers a slew of extra premium detailing.
