The PUMA Clyde turns 50 in 2023, and the German sportswear powerhouse commemorates the quintessential basketball sneaker’s rich history by reissuing the “Clydezilla MIJ” pack. The exclusive duo of PUMA Clyde colourways first dropped in 2006, taking its nickname from the fictional monster Godzilla and was limited to only 360 pairs. This “Black Orange” iteration returns in a contrasting colour palette, carrying the torch as one of the most iconic PUMA Clyde styles.
The PUMA Clyde debuted in 1973 as the signature basketball shoe of New York Knicks legend and fashion icon Walt “Clyde” Frazier. Today, the silhouette remains at the front line of the brand’s lifestyle offerings as a global fashion staple. This “Clydezilla Made in Japan” iteration arrives in a stealthy blacked-out suede base, contrasted with bright orange Formstrip logos on the sides and laces. Gold foil PUMA Clyde branding embellishes the lateral section and insoles, while the classic cat logo gets stamped on the tongue. The clean white rubber cupsole completes this anniversary-edition colourway.
