The rumours are true, your shoedrobe isn't complete without a pair of white sneakers. No matter the season, owning a pair of fresh white kicks is non-negotiable. Not only do white sneakers go with pretty much anything, but most white sneakers are instant classics that will never go out of fashion, serving as the perfect base for any outfit. But as with any wardrobe essential, searching for the perfect pair can be exhausting. The world of women's sneakers especially can feel as if it's hard to find suitable styles that don't feature pink or glitter details, and many fashion mags may try and point you towards fashion brands rather than sneaker specialists. But you've come to the right place. At The Sole Supplier, we're dedicated to helping gals like you build out your sneaker collection, and we've pulled together some of our expert knowledge to help you find the perfect pair of white sneakers.
In our humble opinion, the perfect white sneaker should be a pair you can reach for every day, and wear with pretty much anything you have in your wardrobe. That means that they should be stylish, timeless, and some of the most comfortable shoes you'll ever own. Although new sneaker styles drop every day, you'll notice that a lot of our top picks are retro silhouettes that have already stood the test of time, so we can guarantee that these classic styles will never go out of fashion. As well as this, the perfect white sneakers should be easy to clean, so we've included lots of white leather pairs that'll just need a wipe down every now and again. This may seem a lot to look out for, but we've taken this all into account when compiling this list, so you don't have to worry about a thing.
In terms of styling, the perfect white sneaker will go with just about anything. From comfy leggings or joggers on the weekend coffee run, to a good vintage pair of Levis and a baggy t-shirt, or a casual trouser and blazer combo, the perfect white sneaker will never look out of place against your favourite 'fit.
So, without further ado, here is our list of the top white sneakers for women.
Now, you’d be hard-pressed to find a list of the best white sneakers for women (or men!) that doesn’t include the Nike Air Force 1. An absolute icon within the sneaker world, the Air Force 1 was designed by Bruce Kilgore in 1982 and remains one of Nike’s best-selling silhouettes. The classic pair comes decked out in a “Triple White” colourway, meaning everything from the shoe’s upper, to the sole, to the laces takes on the clean white hue, and comes in both mid top and low top variations. Remaining in-demand year in, year out, the shoe is so popular that Nike have had to limit orders to one pair at a time. If you don't have a pair in your shoedrobe yet, this is definitely a sneaker you need in your rotation.
2021 saw the reinvention of the New Balance 550, a shoe that first appeared back in the 80s. Its new resurgence was thanks to American label Aime Leon Dore, and the collab was such a success that ALD’s Creative Director, Teddy Santis, was brought in to spearhead the creative direction at New Balance too. Since then we’ve seen the New Balance 550 sell-out time and time again, with some general release colourways going for up to £600 on the resell market. The retro styling, premium leather and suede construction and subtle hints of colour mean that this style will be around for years to come, but if you need a pair that’ll go with everything, there’s a white and grey version too. We are predicting big things for the New Balance 550, it's definitely a future classic.
Another throwback 80s silhouette that you really can’t go wrong with is the adidas Superstar. Constructed from premium leather and featuring an iconic shell-toe design, the Superstar is a staple of the adidas Originals umbrella. Thanks to its retro styling, the shoe remains timeless, and you can even pick them up in multiple colourways. Try a triple white pair, or reach for a pair with coloured three-stripes if you want something with more edge.
The ultimate minimalist shoe, the Veja Esplar is the choice for slick city-goers and influencers alike, making it one of the best white sneakers for women. Sleek, minimal and sustainable, the Veja Esplar is the perfect alternative to more expensive models on the market and a great dupe for the Common Projects Achilles. Although not an obvious choice for die-hard sneakerheads, Veja's are known for being comfy, long-lasting and easy to look after, which is exactly what you want from a pair of white sneakers!
A true classic, the Reebok Club C is the perfect minimalist women's trainer. In a timeless yet paired back design, the Club C comes in a number of finishes, so you can choose from fresh white leather to off white and cream shades. As well as this, it's also been the perfect canvas for collaborations, seeing link-ups from minimalist moodboard-turned-brand JJJJound, and designer furniture brand Eames. Although the hype may not be there right now, these classic sneakers will never go out of style, so believe us when we say your shoedrobe needs them!
In case you missed the memo, Dunks are really having a moment right now. These lace-up sneakers are everywhere and come in just about every colour under the sun, but the Dunk Low Triple White is still pretty easy to get your hands on! Decked out in all-white from the laces to the rubber sole, the low-top sneaker is a future classic and one of the best white shoes on the market.
Looking for a white sneaker you can wear for everything? One of the best running shoes available, the adidas Ultraboost will easily take you from the gym to the coffee run. Made from a lightweight Primeknit material, these super-light trainers also come with the most comfortable ride ever, thanks to the adidas Boost cushioning in the sole. Slimline and low-key, they are the perfect accompaniment to a good oversized sweat and a pair of leggings, be that for the gym or the grocery store.
Did you really think we'd make it through this list without a Jordan 1? Fact is, the Jordan 1 is a classic, and this Mid looks great in a clean, all-white colourway. Ever since the basketball staple debuted in 1985 it's remained one of the most coveted and talked about silhouettes ever, so of course, a white pair deserves a place on the list. Believe us when we tell you you need a Jordan 1 in your rotation, no sneaker collection is complete without them.
One of the most recognisable shoes of the last decade, the Yeezy Boost 350 has seen a couple of white releases. The Yeezy 350 V2 "White" pair saw the shoe take on a full white tone across the Primeknit upper, and even the iconic 350 V2 side stripe melted into the rest of the sneaker. Underfoot, the mid and outsole took on more of an off white hue and encase the adidas Boost midsole, making them some of the most comfortable shoes going. All in all, they're super-clean and remain a great choice for women who are into streetwear.
Fancy upgrading your Converse Chuck Taylors for something a little more luxe? You need the Comme Des Garcons Converse in your life. Available in both high top and low top versions, the Comme Converse elevate the classic Chuck Taylor All Star with some designer detailing. Decorated with Comme's "Play" motifs, the canvas sneakers feature a cute little heart print on both the low and high-top sneakers.
Voted the top sneaker of 2021 by our TSS team, the A Ma Maniére x Air Jordan 3 is a seriously luxe option. For this white shoe, Nike teamed up with the Atlanta boutique to celebrate women, and the co-branded details pay homage to A Ma Maniére co-founder, James Whitman's mother. Dressed in tumbled white leather and premium grey suede, the high-top sneaker is also decorated with "Violet Ore" hints for added points of interest. The Air Jordan 3 is yet another silhouette that remains fresh from the '80s, further proving our point that retro styles are here to stay.
In need of something even more bougie? Allow us to introduce you to the "White" adidas x Prada Forum Low, or the adidas for Prada Re-Nylon. Designed in 1984 (are you seeing a pattern here?) the retro-looking Forum was originally designed for the basketball court. Fast forward to today, and it's just as iconic as ever. So iconic in fact, that Prada decided to take a spin at it, adding a signature recycled nylon Prada pouch to the Velcro strap. First previewed in September 2021 on the feet of ASAP Rocky, the Pradidas pair finally launched in January 2022, retailing at a cool £650. If that doesn't appeal to you, you can still pick up a general release pair of Forum high tops or low tops for below £90, or if a platform sneaker is your kind of vibe, there's a version of that too!
If you're looking to make a statement with your white sneakers, look no further than the Balenciaga Triple S. Instantly recognisable for their chunky, oversized silhouette, these white women's sneakers have quite the reputation for being a loud and proud pair. The Triple S trend seems to have gone on forever, but there is clearly a reason behind it. To make sure you get enough wear out of the £800+ price tag, a pair of white leather Triple S' is definitely the way to go.
Okay, we might just have saved the best til last here. The Off-White x Jordan 1 High "White" may just be one of the hottest white women's sneakers of all time. Designed by the incredible late Virgil Abloh, the Off-White Jordan 1 High saw the shoe share the same design language and features as his first take on the silhouette, the Off-White x Jordan 1 High "Chicago." The premium white leather upper features deconstructed detailing, such as a tacked-on Nike Swoosh, and signature Off-White elements like the "Air" marking on the midsole. The sneakers are currently sitting at £4k+ on Stock X, but if you're all about the statements, they're the pair to buy.
Damn Daniel! Back at it again with the - alright, we won't. But we have to give an honourable mention to the humble Vans Canvas Slip-on. Not only are they super versatile as they are, and also ripe for customisation, but the Cali brand's classic slip-ons had a huge 2021 thanks to a certain Netflix TV show that saw sales go through the roof. Style with a green tracksuit to complete the look.
And there you have it. Shopping for the perfect white sneakers can feel pretty daunting, but hopefully this list has given you lots of inspo. Of course, the right white sneaker will differ from person to person, but getting to know your personal style and preferences will go a long way into building that shoedrobe in the long run.
