Cecilie Bahnsen Gives the ASICS GEL-TERRAIN MT a Bloomin’ Makeover

ASICS continues to bridge the gap between performance footwear and luxury fashion, and its ongoing collaboration with Danish designer Cecilie Bahnsen is a prime example. Since 2021, Bahnsen has infused her signature feminine, floral aesthetic into a select range of ASICS silhouettes. With the second iteration of her collaboration on the GEL-TERRAIN, the partnership takes a bold step forward, introducing a mid top design for the first time in two colourways.

The signature floral motifs, which first appeared on the Cecilie Bahnsen x ASICS GEL-NYC in 2022, make a return here; elevating both versions of the shoe. On the "Pure Silver" edition, the flowers are rendered as delicate embroidery and abstract puffed graphics, adding texture and depth to the design. This version stays closer to the traditional GEL-TERRAIN look, enhanced with functional updates like pull tabs on the ankle entry and heel, as well as a neoprene bootie for a secure mid top fit.

The "Midnight" colourway, on the other hand, takes a more experimental approach. A rainproof exterior sheath, crafted from semi sheer synthetic materials, transforms the shoe's profile while maintaining the signature floral patterns. The result is a striking interplay of rugged functionality and the soft, feminine touch that defines Bahnsen's work. Both styles embody the "worlds collide" ethos of the collaboration, seamlessly blending ASICS' trail running heritage with Bahnsen's refined aesthetic.

The Cecilie Bahnsen x ASICS GEL-TERRAIN MT is set for a wide release on 21st February, retailing at £245.
