Nike’s Orange Label program continues to thrive in 2025, bringing more gum soled, fat tongued Dunks to skate shops. One of the most exciting additions is the Nike SB Dunk Low “University Blue Gum”, a sneaker first teased in the summer of 2024. With its striking design and premium craftsmanship, this release is set to headline Nike SB’s Spring 2025 collection. It’s clear that this pair draws more than just a hint of inspiration from an absolute classic.
Part of the In Store Only series, the “University Blue Gum” Dunk Low stays true to the ethos of the Orange Label line. This exclusive sneaker boasts a vibrant University Blue upper crafted from a mix of mesh, suede, and leather, ensuring both durability and performance for skaters. Crisp white Swooshes and heel branding add contrast, while the gum rubber outsole provides excellent grip. Subtle orange branding on the tongue and insoles serves as a nod to the Orange Label identity.
The Orange Label series, launched in the late 2010s, offers limited edition footwear and apparel designed specifically for the skateboarding community. Available exclusively at select skate shops and Nike SB’s website, these releases prioritise both functionality and style, with the signature orange tags distinguishing them from standard Nike SB offerings.
A closer look at the “University Blue Gum” reveals undeniable similarities to the iconic Nike SB Dunk Low Gulf Club 58. While not identical, the resemblance is clear. Tthe bold blue upper and gum soles evoke the classic design, though modern tweaks bring a fresh take, including slight variations in the shade of blue and subtle differences in the gum sole detailing. For those who missed out on the Gulf Club 58 due to soaring resale prices, the “University Blue Gum” offers a compelling alternative.
Retailing at £109, this sneaker will be available exclusively at Nike SB skate shops and select stockists in Spring 2025. Don’t miss your chance! Hit the ‘Notify Me’ button to stay updated and secure your pair as soon as they drop!
