Having recently relaunched its Fenty subbrand with Rihanna, as well as announcing Skepta as an ambassador earlier this year, it's fair to say that PUMA is back and fighting for its share of the sneaker scene. And, over the past few days especially, there’s no denying that the brand has been making moves. On Friday, it launched the Fenty x PUMA Avanti, which was a sell-out success, and now, Skepta may just have given us our first glance at his own PUMA silhouette during his MAINS show at London Fashion Week.
Marking his own label’s debut show, the British MC sported an unfamiliar pair of sneakers on foot, leading many to believe it's likely to be his new signature PUMA model. Boasting iridescent panels over a stealthy black mesh, the silhouette is rather chunky, leaning more towards the shape (and colourway) of his collaborative Air Max 97 than his Nike Shox collab. An outline of PUMA’s logo arrives in subtle, shadowy stripes, while further chrome branding hits sit atop a track tyre-like sole unit, all but confirming the collaboration.
As it stands, there’s no more real info to go off right now but believe us when we say we’ll be the first to let you know as soon as we hear more about the upcoming Skepta x PUMA shoe. In the meantime, Gallery Dept. links up with ASICS on the GT-2160.
