The upcoming Nike VaporFly 4 is the latest evolution in Nike’s groundbreaking running shoe series. Expected to launch in April 2025, the VaporFly 4 builds on its predecessors with refined design elements and cutting edge performance features. Take a look at the first images and a detailed tech breakdown below.
Designed with the needs of distance runners in mind, the VaporFly series has consistently delivered exceptional energy return, stability, and smooth transitions. The fourth iteration continues this trend, with the inaugural White/Gridiron and Sail/Black colourways now circulating online via official retailer images.
The influence of the AlphaFly 3 on the VaporFly 4 is unmistakable. Key design elements, such as the outer lip encircling the heel, are borrowed directly from the AF3, alongside the oversized Swoosh logo, which extends into the midsole. Technologically, the VaporFly 4 is equipped with a full length carbon fibre Flyplate for firmness and responsiveness, paired with a complete ZoomX cushioning system underneath. Unlike the AlphaFly models, however, this version omits the visible Zoom Air pod at the forefoot.
Remarkably, the VaporFly 4 is expected to be the lightest shoe in the series, weighing in at just 190 grams for a men’s size 10; a 10-gram reduction from the previous model.
While an exact release date remains unconfirmed, the VaporFly 4 is set to hit shelves in April 2025. In addition to standard colourways, fans can look forward to a “Prototype” edition and other unique releases as part of Nike’s ongoing colour story series.
