Back in October, we got our first look at the Fragment Design x Nike Air Zoom Spiridon collab. After much anticipation, the wait is finally over. The highly coveted sneakers are dropping next week! Given the hype surrounding this release (and Hiroshi Fujiwara's track record of sellout sneakers), these are bound to vanish in seconds.
The collab features two clean colourways, reimagining this ’90s classic silhouette with a fresh, contemporary upgrade. The Japanese streetwear powerhouse has layered the Spiridon with a complex mesh base and suede around the mudguard, delivering a subtle yet premium styling. True to Fragment’s design philosophy, code inspired details are scattered across the design; from the lateral side and heel to the insole, adding a unique signature to the pair.
The sneakers rest atop Spiridon's iconic wavy midsole, infused with Nike's Air Zoom technology for ultimate comfort. A co branded rubber outsole completes the design, ensuring these kicks to stand out in the crowd.
Fujiwara’s collaborations with Nike have always been a masterclass in minimalistic design, and the Air Zoom Spiridon is no exception. His past releases, like the Dunk High in 2021 and the Air Jordan 1 from 2014, have remained timeless and highly sought after.
Fujiwara, often called "The Godfather of Streetwear," has a long history with Nike. His first Fragment Design x Nike sneaker debuted in 2010, but his partnership with the brand dates back further. In 2002, Fujiwara joined forces with legendary designer Tinker Hatfield and Nike exec Mark Parker to form HTM, a creative trifecta that produced some of the most iconic trainers in history. He’s worked with big names like Louis Vuitton, Nike, Burton, Moncler, Levi’s, Starbucks, Converse, Apple, TAG Heuer Carrera, Stussy, BVLGARI, Supreme, and Pokémon.
The Fragment Design x Nike Air Zoom Spiridon in 'White' and 'Black' is set to release globally on 5th December via Fragment Design, Nike, the SNKRS app, and select retailers.
While the price hasn’t been officially confirmed, rumours suggest it’ll retail for around £155. Hit the bell icon above for your best chance to snag these for retail.
